Inszone Insurance Services has acquired LJ Insurance, Inc, an agency based in Keokuk, Iowa, with an additional location in Fort Madison.

The deal marks another step in Inszone’s expansion strategy and adds to its capabilities in life and health insurance.

Founded in the 1950s, LJ Insurance has operated as a locally rooted agency offering commercial, personal, life, and health insurance products. The firm has built its business serving individual and business clients across southeastern Iowa.

Jon Little Jr., owner of LJ Insurance, said the decision to join Inszone came while exploring options to improve carrier relationships and expand market access.

"Initially, I was exploring options to join a national cluster to strengthen our contracts and market position," he said. "When I received a letter from Inszone, it prompted me to reach out directly. After speaking with Chris Walters, I immediately sensed that Inszone’s culture was going to be the right fit."

“Their longstanding history, focus on life and health insurance, and strong reputation in the community make them a perfect fit as we expand our presence in the state of Iowa. We look forward to integrating their expertise and continuing to provide excellent service to their clients,” Inszone CEO Chris Walters said.

The Iowa acquisition adds to a series of regional expansions for Inszone in the Midwest. In April, the company acquired Munson Insurance Agency in Arkansas City, Kansas. That move marked Inszone’s second acquisition in Kansas and further solidified its presence in the central US.

In October, Inszone also acquired Dan Davis Insurance Solutions, a California-based agency with a niche focus on serving homeowner associations (HOAs) and community managers.

LJ Insurance’s addition follows a busy stretch of M&A activity for Inszone. In the latter half of 2024 alone, the firm announced multiple acquisitions, including ISU Francis-Pinney Insurance Services and Erickson King & Associates.
