Inszone Insurance Services has acquired Chacon Insurance Services, a Trinidad, Colorado-based agency with a long history in the region’s insurance market.
Established in 1957 by Carlos Chacon, the agency has provided personal and commercial insurance services to clients across southern Colorado for more than six decades. The acquisition is part of Inszone’s broader expansion strategy, which includes acquiring locally established agencies.
Chacon said the decision followed several years of consideration. “I've been approached by Inszone several times over the years, but it never felt like the right moment,” he said. “This time around, I recognized the tremendous value Inszone could bring to our clients and our employees. Their extensive market access and commitment to maintaining our local presence made them the perfect choice.”
Inszone CEO Chris Walters said the agency’s presence and relationships in the community supported the firm’s acquisition criteria. “We are honored to welcome Chacon Insurance Service to the Inszone team. Their longstanding reputation, dedication to customer care, and community roots in Trinidad align with our values,” Walters said.
Inszone stated that clients of Chacon Insurance will continue to be served by the local team, with access to expanded insurance options and additional technology resources.
The acquisition follows several recent transactions by Inszone, including the purchase of LJ Insurance, Inc., a Keokuk, Iowa-based agency with an additional location in Fort Madison. Founded in the 1950s, LJ Insurance serves individual and business clients across southeastern Iowa.
Inszone also recently acquired Huffmaster Insurance, based in Monett, Missouri. Founded in 1990 by Susan and Kevin Huffmaster, the agency has offered a range of personal and commercial coverage, including home, auto, agribusiness, and recreational vehicle insurance. The acquisition aligns with the Huffmasters’ retirement and aims to preserve continuity for clients and staff.
Inszone, a national provider of commercial, personal, and employee benefits insurance, continues to grow its presence in the Midwest and other regional markets. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
