H.W. Kaufman Group has announced a restructuring of its international operations, consolidating its businesses outside North America under two brands: Burns & Wilcox for broking and RB Jones for underwriting.
The privately held insurance group said the changes are intended to create a more integrated structure for its global operations and align its international business units under a consistent brand framework.
“By leveraging the power of our brokerage, distribution, underwriting and risk-bearing business units, Kaufman is well positioned to elevate our organisation even further through a more unified and highly competitive global organisation,” said Jodie Kaufman Davis (pictured), co-president of H.W. Kaufman Group. “The rebranding is another important step forward in the evolution of our international operations – one that is specifically designed to drive scale around the world.”
In London, the company is launching Burns & Wilcox Global Solutions, which will include a non-marine unit, formerly Chesterfield Insurance Brokers, and a marine group that will operate as Lochain Patrick, now a division of Burns & Wilcox Global Solutions. Kaufman said it plans to continue hiring across the new unit through 2025.
The business in the United Arab Emirates will adopt the name Burns & Wilcox MENA, while operations in Amsterdam will be renamed Burns & Wilcox Global Solutions Europe.
The company’s underwriting platform in the UK, previously Burns & Wilcox UK, will now operate as RB Jones UK, expanding the RB Jones brand outside North America for the first time. The underwriting portfolio includes areas such as specialty, health, hospitality, logistics, professional indemnity, retail, sports and leisure, and terrorism.
Node International, Kaufman’s cyber and digital MGA, will transition to RB Jones Digital, with a focus on developing underwriting solutions for technology-related risks.
Leadership of the rebranded operations in the UK, MENA and Europe will report to Paul Greensmith, CEO of H.W. Kaufman Group International.
Burns & Wilcox Global Solutions and RB Jones UK have also moved into a new office in The Gherkin, located in London’s financial district near Lloyd’s of London and other market participants.
In North America, Kaufman will continue to operate under its existing brands: Burns & Wilcox, RB Jones, and Atain Insurance Companies.
